Course Description: Anthropology

Why do you sit in the same seat every day in each classroom? How did humans develop? Why do boys and girls play differently on an elementary playground? What is the archeological footprint of cannibalism? How and why did agriculture develop? How did humans interact with ice age animals? What is the cultural significance of kinship (family) patterns? These are just a small sample of the questions that Anthropology investigates. Anthropology is the study of humans, and anthropologists study nearly everything about humans. This course will introduce you to some of the more fascinating features of humans. If you are curious about people you will love this course. Anthropology is offered both for 5 college credits through Central Washington University and for just high school credit.
