Course Description: Introduction to Health Careers

 

Looking at a career in a health science field?  This course is a great overview of the history of health care, insurance, ethics, anatomy, and a variety of health care careers.  You will have one trimester of health care education followed by a trimester of experiences and guest speakers from a range of health care careers including nursing, dental hygiene, physical therapy, physician, medical assistant, EMT, etc.

This course satisfies a 2.0 Elective Credit (CTE)

 

Sequence of Courses/Pre-Requisites:

Students need to be 10th, 11th or 12th grade or have instructor approval – Medical Terminology course completion would be helpful but not required
